The sighting occurred at 1pm on a sunny clear day, where the witness and their companions were fishing in a cove on Lake Shasta surrounded by undergrowth, tall oak saplings and pine forest on hills on both sides, with the cabin on the right at the top of the hill and the brush was under water.
